Have you ever heard of a damselfly?
They only live for two days, all of them hatch on a beautiful summer's eve in May, mate, lay eggs, and die, their bodies filling the lakes and ponds where their eggs were laid, and where they hatched.
The eggs take a whole year to hatch,
and the cycle begins all over again,
hatch, mate, lay eggs, die.
But they do it, generation after generation, and every year, people come to see them flying in the air, and sometimes, if they are quick, they might catch one and admire its
slim body and gossamer wings,
like those of a dragonfly, only longer, and more beautiful.
Damselflies live only for two days, after almost a year ofwaiting in their egg, but finally, on one night, they hatch, and spread the beauty, than do what they have to, and
wait,
for the next generation.
How long has it took them to get noticed?
Years.
Years of the beautiful creatures flying in the almost-dark sky,
Sillouetted
By the setting sun.
But people noticed them, and they became pretty famous.
Yet they didn't change at all, still every year on
That
Summer's eve.
They still let people see their beauty, but they didn't flaunt it. Just
hatch, mate, lay eggs, and die.
They are like some people, in a way.
They put effort and care into something, and quietly display the
Excellence
Of their skills.
Sure, people don't notice them at first, but finally ,
Someone will,
And then everyone will see....
Just how beautiful and graceful they really are.
